この県会の決議を待って、政府は衆議院へ「栃木県災害土木補助費二十二万円」の臨時予算を提出し、議会は無造作にこれを通過した。翁は東奔西走した。 けれど「銅山党の奸策」は殆ど全く何処にも反響しなかった。寧ろ田中の狂激として却て到る所に反感を買ったに過ぎなからう。

After the prefecture assembly approved the proposal,the Government presented an extraordinary budget plan of ￥220 thousand of allowance for Tochigi-ken Prefecture to be allocated for the disaster prevention construction works.Grandpa met as many people as he could and tried to win them over to his side.Few people,however,would listen to him. I am afraid his passionate appeal was taken as that of a crazy fanatic.

この政府の補助費二十八万円の中十二万円が谷中亡滅費に加へられるので、即ち谷中村破壊費用総計四十八万円と云ふことである。隣地藤岡町に県庁の「栃木県瀦水池設置処分事務所」の看板が掛かった。

The total budget for the abolishment of Yanaka-mura Village was ￥480 thousand because ￥120 thousand was taken from  the Government aid of ￥280 thousand. The Tochigi-ken Prefecture Regional Office of Construction of Retarding Basin was opened in the neighboring town of Fujioka-machi Town.

かくして翁は、全く着の身着のままの姿となって、鉱毒事件の犠牲者谷中の農村へ一身を投げた。

At this time Grandpa moved in Yanaka-mura Village to live with the victims of the copper mine pollution lived.He had nothing with him except his clothes and other personal belongings.

世は日露戦争の狂熱で、ただ外へのみ目を奪はれて居る間隙に乗じ、この谷中村と云ふ一小村は、地獄の如き苦境に襲はれた。

People were excited with Ruso-Japan War.While their attention was occupied with the outside world,this tiny village was thrown into unbearable sufferings like hell.

田中正造 1841年12月15日 - 1913年（大正2年）9月4日Tanaka Shozo dedicated his life for the farmers who were victimized by the pollution of Ashio Copper Mine. He is one of the pioneers of environmental movement in Japan.

天保12年(1841)	0才	11月3日（旧暦）下野国安蘇郡小中村（現栃木県佐野市小中町）に生まれる。名主富蔵の長男。 Shozo was born on December 15, in Konaka, a small village in western Aso, in what was then the fiefdom of Shimotsuke (Konaka, Sano City, Tochigi Pref.). Nanushi Tomizo's eldest son.
文久元年(1861)	19才	小中村六角家領の名主に公選される（21才説も有）。 He was elected Nanushi by the villagers.(or age 21)
